using softerbread
by using this site you agree to these terms. softerbread is a cooperative initiative operated by the birthright project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. we offer a free ai diagnostic (zaina), paid digital products (plans, packs, and builds under baked goods), an in-residence program (SofterStart), and the ability to donate.
you must be at least 18 to apply to SofterStart, buy a paid product, or make a donation. if you're between 16 and 18 in a market where local law permits younger participation with guardian consent, we may still require written guardian consent before you can join.
digital products
plans, packs, and builds are digital deliverables. action plans are emailed to you (typically within 24 hours). packs and builds are delivered by email or assembled with you, as described on each product's page. what we deliver to you is yours to keep and use.
payments
payments and donations are processed securely by Stripe. prices are shown in US dollars. recurring gifts continue until you cancel — email us to stop one at any time.
SofterStart
applying to SofterStart is not a guarantee of a place. we review applications on a rolling basis and select based on fit and available resources. what SofterStart includes is described on the SofterStart page; selective support (such as stipends) is offered based on need and availability and is never promised in advance.
if you're accepted, your written placement offer is the fellowship agreement — it confirms your format, location, stipend, and available support. any later change to those terms is only valid if confirmed in writing.
softerbread holds the venture you're placed in during your fellowship. at graduation, we document the ownership transfer to you in writing under your chosen path (independent or cooperative), including what's yours (brand, domain, customer relationships, business-specific work) versus what stays shared cooperative infrastructure. cooperative cofounders' 9% contribution is reported to you periodically against the operating-profit figures it's based on.
you can withdraw from the fellowship at any point; we'll confirm in writing what you keep from work completed to date. participation can also end on our side for serious misconduct, sustained non-performance, or breaking program agreements — handled case by case, not automatically. there is no exclusivity or non-compete: cooperative cofounders may move to the independent path, or leave the cooperative relationship, at any time, and may reapply for future residencies later.
honest limits
we build practical tools and support in good faith, but we can't guarantee a specific business outcome — that depends on many things outside our control. softerbread is provided "as is," and to the extent the law allows, the birthright project isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses from using it. nothing here is legal, tax, or financial advice.
changes
we may update these terms as softerbread grows. material changes will be reflected here with a new date above.
this page is plain-language guidance, not a substitute for legal advice — where residency, tax, or immigration terms differ by country, confirm your own obligations with a local advisor.
